Privacy Policy

1.Information We Do Not Collect

The app does not collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any identifying information
• Your trading data, journal entries, profit/loss records, or notes
• Your stock holdings, broker details, or account information
• Your location, contacts, photos, or any device files
• Your browsing history or app usage analytics
• Any other personally identifiable information (PII)

We do not require you to create an account or sign in to use the app.

2.How Your Data Is Stored

All trading journal entries, calculator history, and app preferences are stored locally on your device only, using your device's built-in browser storage (localStorage).

• This data never leaves your phone
• It is not transmitted to our servers, third parties, or anyone else
• It is only accessible by you on your device
• If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted

3.Backup and Export

The app allows you to export your trading journal as a JSON file. When you do this:

• The file is created on your device
• You choose where to save or share it (Google Drive, WhatsApp, email, etc.)
• We have no access to this file
• What you do with the exported file is your responsibility

We strongly recommend keeping backups in a secure location of your choice.

4.Data We Fetch From Our Servers (Read-Only)

The app fetches two read-only configuration files from our server to function properly:

• Broker fee structure (broker.json) — Standard brokerage and government charges for Indian stock brokers. This is public information, identical for all users.
• NSE holiday calendar (holidays.json) — Official NSE trading holidays. Public information, identical for all users.

These files do not contain any user data. They are downloaded by the app, not uploaded from it. No user identification occurs during these requests.

Our server logs may temporarily record standard web access information (IP address, timestamp) when these files are fetched, as is standard for any web server. This data is not used to identify users and is not retained beyond standard server log retention periods.

5.Permissions

The app requests the following permissions only when needed for specific features:

• Storage access (Read/Write) — Used solely to save and read backup files at your explicit request. We do not access any files unrelated to the app's backup feature.
• Internet access — Used only to fetch the broker fee and holiday data described above.

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, calendar, SMS, or any other sensitive permissions.

6.Advertising

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. These ads may appear:

• As rewarded video ads to unlock the journal feature
• In other locations within the app

Google AdMob's data practices are governed by Google's privacy policy, available at: policies.google.com/privacy

AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as advertising ID), IP address, and general device information to serve relevant ads. Avenue does not share any of your trading or personal data with AdMob or any other advertising network.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Android device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

7.Third-Party Services

The app uses these third-party services:

• Google AdMob — For displaying advertisements (see Section 6)
• Google Play Services — Standard Android platform services

We do not share user data with any other third parties.

8.Children's Privacy

The app is intended for users 18 years and older, as stock market participation in India requires legal adulthood. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 18.

9.Data Security

Since we do not collect or store user data on any server, there is no risk of a data breach exposing your information from us. Your trading data lives only on your device and is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption, etc.).

We recommend:

• Using a screen lock on your device
• Keeping your device's operating system updated
• Storing exported backup files in secure locations

10.Your Rights

Because we do not collect your data, there is no personal information for you to access, modify, or delete from our systems.

To delete all data the app has stored on your device, you can:

• Use the "Clear all data" option in the journal menu, or
• Uninstall the app, or
• Go to Android Settings → Apps → Avenue → Storage → Clear Data

11.Compliance

This app and its data handling practices are designed to comply with:

• Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, India)
• Google Play Store Developer Program Policies

We do not transfer data outside India because we do not collect user data at all.

12.Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

For significant changes, we will notify users through an in-app notice on the next app launch.

13.Disclaimer

Avenue is a calculation and journaling tool. It does not provide investment advice, financial recommendations, or guarantees of any kind. All trading decisions are made solely by the user. Brokerage and tax data displayed in the app is based on publicly available rate cards as of the last update and may change. Always verify with your broker before making decisions.
